Coda 16 Meter Color?

I'm thinking about getting a Coda 16 amp in silver with the meters and I wondered if anybody had an informed preference between the blue and amber meters?  Blue looks snazzy with the silver case but I'm concerned it will be too bright and distracting in the room.

Blue meters are no longer available from Coda for some time now. Coda had a letter from Mcintosh requesting they discontinue using that color for their meters. According to what Doug Dale told me it wasn’t worth fighting them over so they stopped selling them.

@pinwa What speakers and other gear are you going to use with the #16?

I like the meter less look but if I were to get meters, I would have a preference for the amber.

I loved my meter less CODA #16 but sold it recently and now use the CODA #11 amp which surprisingly matches a bit better with the DAC I use direct to amp (splitting hairs).

Seeing as how much I love the CODA #11. I have a feeling the following old CODA amp on EBay (sold by CODA) could be a great amp.

@yyzsantabarbara The Coda 16 would be displacing a pair of Krell FPB 650M amps which I have used successfully with a lot of different speakers but a friend lent me his 16 and I liked it better.  Would it be fair to say that the Coda 11 was the precursor to the 16?

I had the Coda 8 with meters, only because the dealer gave me a deal on it over the meterless model. They are nice eye candy for a bit, but overall pretty useless and they are a distraction. Just my two cents, or is it a nickel now?

I actually have the Coda #8 with Blue meters and like it although I rarely use it anymore. I was also given a deal on the model with meters a couple years or so back.
