What blues are you listening to today?

I hardly put on Blues any more, although it used to figure prominently in my listening, but as it happens, I did pull out Indianola Mississippi Seeds night. I’ve always liked that album, despite the over-production. Bottom line: BB’s playing and vocals are great!

I think you're missing the point. Consider this quote from BB King: 

The Blues is a tonic for whatever ails you. I could play the Blues and not be blue anymore.

It's difficult to mention The Blues without including Lightnin' Hopkins and John Lee Hooker. Their recent reissues on the Craft Bluesville label, Blues In My Bottle and That's My Story are outstanding as is the entire series.

It's good to hear from all the blues lovers out there.  Great blues artists from y'all.  One of my faves is Tommy Castro and many already mentioned.  Went to Beale Street in Memphis many times for live blues when I was younger, the top performers don't start till about 10 pm but it's worth waiting for.
