CD Transport Reccomendation

@jaymark I would be curious as to the amount of the custom tax that you will pay if you don't mind me asking?

I bought a McIntosh CD/SACD Transport MCT80, small one (27 cm wide), very good sounding, extremely solid built, but for a lot of money (former times: 4500 Euro, nowadays 6000 Euro). I like ist. But Display is black, althoug its not dead (sometimes it shows function), the bug is into the software. The remote control allows no fast forward. Repair? Not my cup of tea, cause after warranty i have to send it to hamburg, inside a very, very huge and heavy packaging. Its possible to skip via remote control. So I am still lucky with it. By the way: My extremely optimized audio network (Naim Uniti Core with Streaming Bridge Lumin U1 Mini plus Converter Weiss DAC 204, powered by Ferrum Hypsos Hybrid LPS, sounds even better than CD, not with Streaming a la Apple Music or Qobuz. But with the ripped CDs via the Naim Uniti Core.

Nice and expensive equipment, but I think you could immediately do better by replacing the U1 Mini with its higher-end sibling, the U2 Mini (or better unit), and possibly upgrading the storage device inside the Naim Uniti Core. If the storage inside the NUC is a 3.5" HDD, replacing it with an SSD should yield noticeably better sound quality.
