Released 55 years on this day

And a bearded lady said to me
If you start your raving
And your misbehaving
You'll be sorry
And the chicken fancier came to play
With his long red beard
And his sister's weird--
She drives a lorry

Saw Jethro Tull with Fleetwood Mac at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver 55 years ago on August 11, 1970.

Fabulous show, although we did have a very long night due to those darn microdots.

Reminds me of a very long night we had after seeing Clapton and Mark Knopfler in Vancouver at the PNE in 88'.

We stashed a bottle of good red wine in a tree outside the venue knowing we'd need some help...

Next morning, 4:00am wandering down Victoria Drive I discovered I had somehow acquired a huge gash on my shin and my sock was soaked in blood.

No idea how it happened, but totally worth it to see Christine Perfect's first tour with Fleetwood mac. What a voice.

As long as we're reviewing ancient history, here is a concert I attended in July, 1974 in New Haven, Connecticut:

David Bowie performed at the Coliseum in New Haven, Connecticut, on 14 July 1974.  It was the 27th date of the Diamond Dogs Tour, which had kicked off in Montreal on 14 June.

The musical director was Michael Kamen, who also played electric piano, Moog synthesizer, and oboe. Earl Slick played guitar, and Mike Garson was on piano and Mellotron. The bass guitarist was Herbie Flowers, and the drummer was Tony Newman.  The backing singers were Geoff MacCormack (billed as Warren Peace) and Gui Andrisano. The line-up was completed by David Sanborn and Richard Grando on saxophone and flute, and percussionist Pablo Rosario.

- Lastly, my date was a beautiful woman who was a dancer in the Alvin Ailey Dance  Company in NYC.

I saw Jethro Tull on a Monday night at Central Park's Wollman Rink in August 1970 before the release of Aqualung. JT performed most of Aqualung. Ticket price was $3!
