And a bearded lady said to me
If you start your raving
And your misbehaving
You'll be sorry
And the chicken fancier came to play
With his long red beard
And his sister's weird--
She drives a lorry
I Saw them at Red Rocks years ago. Like their 30th anniversary. Then Saw Anderson there with the Colorado Symphony. Kinda pissed at the old fart now for kicking Martin Barre out of the band.
When I was a wee lad I thought all the songs were a double entendre. Such deep thoughts from a bunch of rockers. But I thought Mother Goose was just a tune about the street actors. Unlike one of Tull's other songs Kissing Willie. Which may have a much deeper meaning.
Tull albums are one of my favorites, certainly in my top five of all artists. My big three are "Aqualung", "Thick as a Brick" and "Benefit". Followed closely by "Stand Up" and "This Was". I feel like I've spent a small fortune on all the iterations of the Tull catalogue, including Steve Wilson versions, MFSL, UK pressings, original US Chrysalis pressings, CDs and cassettes. Happy to have them all!
