amp I bought 3 days ago not powering on - electrical engineer advice wanted

I think it was a battery in AOC’s plug he was referring to. I just don’t see how changing that will fix your amp…

@devinplombier I did not have one bone in my body that wished to talk about AOC. audphile1 started it.

@parkergetdean I'm sure the tech will do fine in the repair. I'm a retired technician (Component level). One good place to get opinions on Audio repairs is a Facebook group called "Repair, Restore or Scrap it Audio and Video". There are some excellent techs on that group and they give great advice. This is a very large and popular group with well over 250,000 members. Lots of Audio equipment techs on this group.
