If it bothers you, buy a 14 gauge cord at your local hardware store and forget about it.
Actually 14awg can be disadvantageous for source components that use little current.
I have started using 16awg on low current source equipment - its quite interesting - lower noise floor in some instances.
Good quality low cost shielded PC 1.5mm 16awg Gotham Audio I have found to be quite good. I find many of the "audiophile" power cables are quite coloured and not neutral. The biggest mistake most folk make are bigger is better. Unless you have a 30amp outlet and are using ginormous current sucking power amps some of these "audiophile" 4mm cross section cables are probably doing more harm than good.
