Robert Levi's 2004 review of the then-newish MD-108 tells us "The 108 is supplied with a terrible 18-gauge power cord. I replaced it without even unwrapping it. Magnum Dynalab could do better." I don't know, but willing to spend a little to find out (belatedly).
@billstevenson Maybe Mac supplied a better original than MD? Although, apart from Monster Cable, I don't recall power cords being a big issue in the 70s-80s . . .
