Aimee Mann

just saw her last night. Had to wait 26 years but it was worth it. She sounded as good as ever.

Beautiful, moving voice and songs...

So the thread - thanks to ALL - lit a fire and I ordered the reissue of Lost In Space. Even with the wildly colored vinyl quality heart palpitations… in very oppositional contrast to my normal experience, the pressing is fantastic.. two very small pop/ticks total… spent a very enjoyable evening with War Department who is also a big fan playing both the record and digital… reality - both are great. I will say the reissue liner notes, etc and her candor about Genesis of each song appreciated in LP format large font….

sadly her tour foray into the PAC NW and West coast don’t line up with my obligation… argh…

well, I was on the fence but I am ordering it now.

btw I cannot imagine a cooler exchange than between extrovert little bully Sean Penn and the bitter and depressing (her words) introvert Aimee Mann sitting at a dinner table at a family gathering. Two of the coolest people on the planet.

I saw Till Tuesday in 1986. I got very lucky and saw her in 1993 in a small club in Atlanta (The Point) doing an acoustic tour with Dave Gregory of XTC.

Have not managed to see her since; so, I hope that her current tour will make it to my area. If not, I will probably need to plan a road trip somewhere.
