Upgrade Suggestions please

Hey All,

I'm running an Eversolo A6 with Beatechnik LPS to a Merason DAC1 Mk2 via Supra Excalibur USB. Sounds really good but still pales to my analog rig. Any suggestions on where to upgrade to get closer to vinyl?

^^^^^^^^ exactly if you don’t know where you are going any stream will get you there..

You guys may be right. I was enjoying my digital setup immensely and didn't listen to vinyl for about 2 months. Then I bought a couple of first pressings and compared the records to my Tidal recordings. The digital paled in comparison. So I suppose my problem is in the comparing. Of course the quality of the digital recordings has wide variation. Maybe its just the digitizing of older recordings like Dire Straights Communique, ELP's first album and Abbey Road that are just not great? I have not compared some of the new stuff like Dominique Fils Aimé, Uakti, etc...

The solution may simply be to listen to the records that I own and listen to the digital that I do not. I appreciate the advice gentlemen.

@maprik remastered reissues sound worse than the originals in a lot of cases.
The albums of older recordings on streaming are mostly remastered versions.

When I buy vinyl I try to either buy original pressings or new AAA vinyl (analog productions, craft, blue note tone poet, rhino AAA) or MoFi pressings. I have Dire Straits Communique original as well as MoFi. Both sound better than the streaming versions.

But that’s not just vinyl vs digital. It’s the level of your components.
Again, you can get your digital up a level or 2 and you’ll enjoy it more. Vinyl will always sound different though. At least at reasonable price points.

Your choices are - enjoy both, or use streaming for discovery and to listen to albums that you don’t want to spend money on buying and listen to it because it’s super convenient, and listen to vinyl when you really want to enjoy the unique experience it offers including all the involvement required from you to play a vinyl record (in my mind it adds to experience).

Can you articulate the aspects of digital playback that pale in comparison to vinyl?
