Upgrade Suggestions please

Nice system! I haven’t seen ESS speakers in a long time - I believe they’re the company that brought the AMT to market. I remember listening to their floorstanders in the 80s and loving them, but they were out of my budget back then.

I agree w/ @audphile1 . The goal should be to enjoy both formats. I’ve found my vinyl and digital rigs to have mostly converged - neither is better than the other, but they remain different though surprisingly close on some recordings.

While the digital units you have are well regarded in their price points, improvements can be made in both your DAC and streamer if you’re so motivated and have the budget. 

Can you tell us your budget and sonic goals and requirements? 

you need to get into the megabuck range to have analog and digital sound to truly converge

in mere mortal systems, they will sound different, though if you do it right, each will have its own appeal and be very enjoyable...

the op should be more descriptive of his perceived shortfalls of his digital sound versus his more favored analog sound

otherwise it is hard to be of any real help

And hinted at sonic convergence might not be your / the goal…. 

You guys may be right. I was enjoying my digital setup immensely and didn't listen to vinyl for about 2 months. Then I bought a couple of first pressings and compared the records to my Tidal recordings. The digital paled in comparison. So I suppose my problem is in the comparing. Of course the quality of the digital recordings has wide variation. Maybe its just the digitizing of older recordings like Dire Straights Communique, ELP's first album and Abbey Road that are just not great? I have not compared some of the new stuff like Dominique Fils Aimé, Uakti, etc...
