@allenf1963  Got ya beat by 2 years MC240 1961 but what am I saying ???? I wouldn’t mind 1963 right now…

Brent is indeed a gem… have to put my last sailing list together….

Tube collectors and investors are really bad guys, but I can understand when people who actually need these tubes sometimes have too many of them. I am not one of them because I have limited funds. I would like to have 10 spare quads of Mullard EL34 XF2 instead of one, that's for sure.

@tomic601 -- I have wanted an MC240 ever since getting my MC225.  I have spoken with many old timer McIntosh fans, and to a person they tell me the MC225 and the MC240 are "Holy Grails" of vintage Mac gear and the best sounding amps other than the MC30 and MC60 Monoblocks.  I've never heard the monoblocks in person, but I've read numerous reviews.  I keep thinking one day I'll have my "barn find" moment.  Convincing the wife that I need another tube amp?  That's a different story....

@inna I wish you would try a quad of Gold Lion KT77s to compare to your Mullard EL34s.  You might be very surprised.

They are the only current production tube of any signal or power tube type that I think compare favorably to NOS.
