This is bad news.

Where is one to go for the infamous "butt ugly" tubes?

"Butt Ugly" tubes power my amp, phonostage, FM tuner, Fender DR and tube distortion box.

Time to make one last purchase of them.

Noooooo! Now I have to figure out how much I can afford to stock up on before he closes.

Yeah. Very recently I bought a pair of Mullard 12AX7 long narrow plates from Brent to have a spare set of them. And a pair of GE military just in case, not bad tubes at all, by the way.

Well, we'll see what happens with Audiotubes, but he has a very strong standing, difficult to match.

dammit. there goes 2 of "the big 3"

Lot's of guys are looking for that big retirement cash-in in cases where their own children want nothing to do with the family business. I imagine he has some good sales, excellent goodwill, and will get a sizeable cheque. 

I imagine he has a nice personal stash for him to enjoy for the next few decades.  Time to work less and listen more.
