Contact For Price

Why do they do this?

Me, I figure they know it's over priced.

Can also cutdown on "Window Shoppers" or "Tire Kickers" that are complete time wasters.

If some manufacturers knew the large discounts a store offers then that establishment may lose the line. (This is what I've been told by several places).

I too find that stilly and obnoxious. It makes me immediately lose interest and scroll on. What are they hiding. Is it a bait-and-switch? Gray market or "hot" goods? Perhaps they're looking for people to rope into an MLM scheme? Or more likely they're trying to size you up to gauge how much you're willing to spend (market segmentation).

I had a recent purchase here  from a dealer listing with contact for price. The dealer was having a closeout on speakers that were being replaced with  newer models.

I received over a $1000 dollar discount on $3200 brand new speakers. I can’t see why some have a problem with a contact for price listing!

It is also a method for a Vendor to create a communication with somebody actually expressing an interest on the actual sale item.

It separates a Customer from the ones who skim across loads of prices seen for the item type, without really being interested in most of what is witnessed.

As stated above, with a stock reduction the more successes had from closed won sales, creates a window for the Vendor to be a little more at liberty to reduce an earlier required price.
