As a seller (in spurts), it's the part of this hobby I enjoy least. Sometimes the tire kickers and silly questions simply get to me, and at those times I demonstrate zero patience for anything other than "are we doing business here, or not?". I take great pains to list & picture all relevant details, and feedback history tells how the transaction will go once money changes hands - so if you really need to volley with me, then quite simply YOU DON'T WANT WHAT I'M SELLING :) I guarantee I'm losing money on every sale; I don't need to lose undue time as well.
That said, some of the genuine hobbyist here are rather pleasant to chat with (once any business objectives have been quickly sorted), and if I do post incorrect information, I'll happily & gratefully take accurate corrections. So the guy you mention was a dick for that. But I also totally get frustration on the seller's end.
