I do like threads like this every now n then as they provide insights on sellers to shy away from and those who might take the high road.
An experience I had with a seller.
A seller of pre-owned audio gear on another site who is advertising some original Audio Alchemy products, indicated in the description "these were from the guys at Schitt". Here is the story. I emailed him indicating, in a very friendly manner, that the Schitt guys were not part of the AA company, then, nor are now. Just friendly fyi info I thought I would share with the seller and was actually surprised by his misinformation. He was quite nasty to me with his response, letting me know he was right. I had respected this seller for years of his success with his sales numbers, with 100% positive feedback. I am bothered by his response, and his lack of information. Why is this bothering me? MrD.

@tomic601 Agreed. When I called Ayre the guy that looked up the serial number was surprisingly pleasant and helpful. Not sure if Ayre is still that customer orientated. |
As a seller (in spurts), it's the part of this hobby I enjoy least. Sometimes the tire kickers and silly questions simply get to me, and at those times I demonstrate zero patience for anything other than "are we doing business here, or not?". I take great pains to list & picture all relevant details, and feedback history tells how the transaction will go once money changes hands - so if you really need to volley with me, then quite simply YOU DON'T WANT WHAT I'M SELLING :) I guarantee I'm losing money on every sale; I don't need to lose undue time as well. That said, some of the genuine hobbyist here are rather pleasant to chat with (once any business objectives have been quickly sorted), and if I do post incorrect information, I'll happily & gratefully take accurate corrections. So the guy you mention was a dick for that. But I also totally get frustration on the seller's end. |

the item is being sold for $225. I spent a few minutes and researched it. Price is fair. What the seller states is for the buyer to verify. We’re talking $225. Any experienced buyer interested in this unit will know what it is. |
@mulveling agreed 100%. I’ve been in that situation where you fend off tire kickers and busybodies. It gets old real quick. |
