List a song so important to you that it can never be on a playlist

1. Jefferson Airplane, Surrealistic Pillow, "Today"

Sure I don’t have playlist one anyway….

Jackson B - Looking East from solo acoustic

and of course Downhill from Everywhere

I am blessed to be able to see and appreciate the real meaning of downhill from all three of my music rooms…

@jeffseight  I love Today — truly beautiful song.  I’d add When we are Dust by Fleetwood Mac.

@fastfreight  when I think of my wake, I go to music that I love that others might not, especially in the context.  Sort of my last chance to be annoying, but in a funny, very me way. So maybe FZ’s Billy the Mountain on a loop, with lyrics handed out to a sing along.  Whoever nails the Flo and Eddie harmonies in the outro gets my system. I need to add a codicil to my will.

My wife thought that was hilarious until I told her I was serious.  Then she got upset, but I pointed out I’d be dead anyway, so she’ll control the set list.  She found that a comfort.

@barts

Me neither. Having said that, I thought the point of playlists was to bypass listening to entire albums and just compile favorite songs. So, where else would you put a favorite song but on a playlist?

I have this disability(?) where I always have some music playing in my head. My daughter has it as well.  So my playlist exists as a constant running soundtrack. When something comes around on the merry-go-round in head that I haven't heard in a while then it gets played on the big rig. Otherwise I have a "very good" stereo in my garage where I mostly stay and I put on a track that I like and Roon/Qobuz will keep the dialog going until I chose to change genre.  I fully admit that I don't use Roon anywhere nears its full capability.  That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

BTW its freakin' 8 degrees here and blowing like crazy.  Garage is 68 degrees and calm.
