Philharmonic monitors for bedroom/office space?

Has anyone heard either of the small monitors Philharmonic Audio sells? They are marketed under "True Monitor" and "Ceramic Monitor". There are some good reviews on them on the net. I am looking for small (under 14inches tall) speakers for a bedroom/home office that literally need to operate effectively off a bookshelf on the wall above my desk. I know these are not big buck audiophile speakers but i have those in my main system. I need something that works for the situation. They would replace an aging pair of Spendor S3/5s that are decent but never handled rock well and that I figure maybe time has passed by....

I've heard nothing but really good things about Dennis Murphy. Can't say I have heard them.

I have had over two dozen pairs of speakers through my room in the past 50 years, and the bigger BMR Monitors are my favorites!  I am sure the smaller ones will perform very well, too.

This is a conflicted request.  You want smaller, but with more dynamics for rock. Correct, the Spendor S3/5 is not a rock speaker.  In the size you desire < 14", a front ported monitor is as close as you'll get without subwoofer help.  Sealed box, no.  I don't see the BMR smaller monitor closing the gap.  Good hunting.

While I have no idea whether the BMR's would be sonically right for you, I recently had an occasion to email Ken about the BMR's and found him very responsive. I suggest you reach out to him.
