Hegel H590 or H400

At the same price point, Which Hegel integrated would you choose ?

I would be using the DAC in either unit.

Both have ample power to drive my Harbeth 40.2 Anniversaries.

Any and all feedback appreciated.

Nothing currently. I purged some of my system in the last 6 months.

I was using a Coda CsiB integrated, and before that a Pass 250.8

The Coda to my ears sounded better than the combination of the 250.8 and an XP-22 preamp.

I still have my PS Audio Directstream 2 DAC. I'm planning on selling it and using the DAC in the Hegel.

@krelldog Did you sell the CSIB because the sound changed over time and you weren't enjoying the sound as much or just a matter of slimming gear down so you have less components on your rack?

Also, did you end up with a Hegel?

we are hegel dealers and have had both pieces in the shop at one time or another

the newer editions sound significantly better.

so I would get a 400 over the older 590

I sold the Coda CSib and a bunch of other gear/cables to pay off my mortgage.

At the time I was going to completely downscale my system going forward.

I bought on the cheap a Hegel H80 just so I could still play digital files from my music library. I've been stunned on how the cheap Hegel sounds on my big Harbeth's. Thus my curiosity on how the H590 or the H400 or 600 would compliment them.

For the record...The Coda CSib is an amazing integrated amp. I still thought it sounded better on my big harbeth's than the Pass Labs combo of the 250,8 and XP-22.
