I love Rel subs as well.  I use a pair of Rel S812s with my 3.7s in the main system.  I have an old Rel Strata III in my upstairs bonus room (basically a guest bedroom that gets used infrequently) with a pair of GR Research N3s (MTM with a ribbon tweeter).  I also have a Sumiko S.5 subwoofer (Sumiko used to distribute Rel and from what I understand it is a copy more or less of a Rel T5) in a spare 2-channel system (with a pair of an old Selah audio SA2s - 2 way bookshelf speakers with a ribbon tweeter) in a medium sized bedroom downstairs.  There are other nice subs but I've owned a bunch of Rels (old Storm IIIs and a Q series in a spare HTA) over the years.  I find them easy to set-up with the aid of a RTA.

@jafant what a great room with a high ceiling.  i bet the acoustics are pretty good. i am blessed to have a high cathedral ceiling.   the back wall is about 54" back and the speakers are about 98" from center to center.

Generally speaking the room, size and speaker orientation you describe should sound very good in an average room .  How is it sounding?

Maybe I missed it but : Are you reporting this because  you’ve moved to a new listening room?  

Or have you just decided to play around with speaker positioning? 

What type of positioning have you used for listening over the past 10 years with your Thiels?

(Also, if you could just relieve yourself of the audiophile myth of cable burn in, you could just relax and enjoy the sound… cables do not need to burn in - the idea that they do just adds another layer of audio neurosis where one is concerned about issues that don’t exist).

My living room is my space. Yes, I am in the process of dialing-in these loudspeakers now that I have Reference cabling.

Yes, it really is a great listening space. Reflections, if any, are minimal at best. I have carpet over slab with an additional area rug that does not seem to interfere with presentation and sound. 2 layers of crown molding complete the ceiling line.
