Nothing wrong with preferring the sound of your current speakers to "million dollar" (or extremely expensive) speakers.I think most of us have had similar experiences with speakers we own.How many times have we heard super expensive systems at aud...
The best "imaging" speakers?
Electronics will have a huge part in this equationNo, not "huge."   Not even remotely as big a part as the speakers.

dznutzI agree that someone should have his expectations in check to a degree. The size of the sound and the bass that comes out of the Perspectives is really surprising.  However, yes, we are talking about fairly small drivers (though long excursio...
The best "imaging" speakers?
Audio Physic Virgo II. These image like nothing I've ever heard (and I've been to a few shows). I used to own a pair and 'upgraded' to MBL 121s. Even though others have cited the MBLs as imaging masters, the Virgos were even better IMHO. I miss...

I use Conrad Johnson Premier 12 mono block tube amps (140W side). The combination works great.  The Perspectives are supposed to work well with tube amps even though they aren't very high sensitivity, due to their benign impedance which tends to st...

The Perspectives have among the most engaging, fun bass of any speaker I've heard.  It just has this beautiful combination of richness, tightness, punch the air reach-out-and-feel it.   It's one of the reasons I fell for the Perspectives.  I'm not...

I'm glad to hear your new Moab speakers please you so much Millercarbon. Now that you have a more linear midrange, see what you've been missing?  ;-)I bet they sound really great.
Joseph Audio Perspective2 vs Perspective
mr tiger...Sorry, but it's been quite a while since I auditioned the Perspective 2s.I believe I noted a slightly more nuanced and clear midrange, but hard to tell without a direct comparison.   The bass is supposed to be one of the biggest areas o...

Do NOT get the Joseph Perspectives if you have to place them close to the back wall.  They put out plenty of bass, a bunch of it from their port, and they do not do well close to wall boundaries.  (I've auditioned them in a space like mine before ...
What do/did you do for a living?
I do Sound Design for film and tv.Like anyone working in the film industry, it's ebb and flow work-wise.When you see pricey gear in my house, it's been a good year ;-)Other years there may be some belt-tightening.   I've learned to navigate the up...

Ok, thanks.  What are your other speakers?  Sounds like you have quite a collection.(I had 7 pairs of speakers not long ago, but I've been cutting down).

riaa_award_collectors_on_facebookSo do you actually disagree with the point that bigger and more expensive doesn't mean "better?"Like celo, I've heard $100,000 speakers that I would never take over my Joseph Perspectives (or my Thiel 2.7s).   Sure...

A healthy amount of self confidence is a good thing, but a little humility would go a long way to making your posts a little less condescending to us mere mortals.millercarbon, while certainly contributing some nice stuff to the forum,  has none...

^^^ Well...that was snippy!celo’s point is not unreasonable. Many audiophiles, myself included, have listened to various speakers within a company's line, and have found that certain designs hit a sweet spot to our ears. In other words, I may find ...
