@frl I did the same thing. Now using an X30.
I saw mention of a MkII version of the R26, but I don't know how it compares to the original R26. I would expect it to be notably better, but I'm guessing.
$2000 Dac
I have kept my eyes on the Dac comparisons. What I'd like to know is what Dac can I buy new or used for under $2000? I am looking for examples that don't throw the voices so far in front. Yes, I like the detail. I am coming from a Luxman dac that was very good, but I just felt the voices were too close, often pianos felt the same. Sometimes almost feeling a little glare as well. So, I am searching for a detailed dac with a little more laid back mids for under 2 grand, new or used. thanks

There is an Audio Mirror Tubadour III listed on the other site for a half of what you want to spend. It can be upgraded to one of new newer models, assuming you like the sound Years ago Tubadour III replaced my Bryston BDA-3 DAC. I am on much more current incarnation of the Tubadour now, and I am pretty happy with the sound. |
@kennyc The Guniger 2 seems like it has more excitement factor than the Yggi+ MIB. The LIM is rolled off (even Schiit says so) and I am not a fan. The Yggi+ OG is a gem, and I knew I would not be happy selling it. I owned LIM | MIB | OG, but not the Guniger 2. Today, I paid for the upgrade of the MIB to the Byggy. I should get that DAC in about 3-4 days. I was planning on selling it, but the upgrade will end up costing me $11000 (after taxes) which is not too much, so I am thinking of keeping it.
