Chair

I’ve been thoroughly bitten by the couch. My listening chair that is.
I’m forced to cut my listening sessions short due to lower back pain (chronic, result of an old injury). Looking to get something that would be comfortable enough to not aggravate the nerve in my tukhes and align properly with my speakers in a sweet spot.
Eames replica in leather? Ikea Poang? Anything else? What do you use?

@bigtwin - I guess so.  Salesman…salesperson…saleswoman says that in-site offers more fabric/leather options than online - throwing out the bait.

I just moved. Triplets college paid. Upgrading furniture after decades living frugally with IKEA furniture- flipped flimsy drawers when sagging.  Might be able to convince spouse into getting my “retirement” daddy chair under furniture upgrade😬.  Another way to look at this is “+cost-resale value” aka I’m not out the full price.  If discount is half price…wishful thinking

I saw a few Eames copies on Amazon. Seems a bit of research is needed to find a “good” copy.

@lalitk  I totally agree there are many versions of this iconic chair.  A good replica has  been built close to the exact specs of the original.  Since the Eames chair is able to be copied by anyone, a certificate of authenticity is just a piece of paper.  IMHO

Look at the construction details of this chair that retails for $1600 US.  You will see two of them in my virtual system page.  Extremely comfortable.  I’m only hyping them because they are a fantastic product.  Ships virtually assembled.  And they ship to the US.  It’s your money and you should spend it any way you see fit.  In my world, I won’t pay 3 -4 times the price to have a name attached.   Cheers.

I often see used-like new Ekornes chairs going for around $1200.

Lots here(where I bought mine for the southern condo)

I see them in Chicago too, similar condition, similar price.  Mine was like new, top end model in a large..$1200.

@bigtwin

I wouldn’t either, and I never suggested that anyone should. My point was simply this: if you’re considering an Eames replica, do your due diligence and choose the best replica available within your budget.
