Any ladies in the audience?

Curious about this a long time.

Any female members on here?

To add another dimension to this discussion, I went on the Jazz thread, which has to do with music not electronics. I was told not to mention electronics because there were people on that site who could not afford good electronics and might have been simply listening to music on their phones.

The first thing I noticed was that there was no mention of female jazz artists, many of whiom are my favorites. I said I thought the site was a bit stuffy not mentioning female artists. And that wasn't taken very well.

I began to mention female jazz artissts like Flora Purim, and I found some members were into that, and also into Brazillian jazz. Many long-time members of the forum pretty much quit posting and I found myself talking to myself and one other person, so I got off the site. For those people it seemed that real jazz was a male form of music, and the latter female (fusion) was kind of like mentioning "When Harry Met Sally" in a foreign movie forum.

No women at ASR since it doesn’t require “hearing”.
Children? Limited understanding, tantrums, limited experience… likely

You may want to ask Angie from American Sound in Ontario Canada.  She has a store that sells very high-end components and speakers - brands that'll make your head spin! She's been in the business for decades and it's extremely knowledgeable and well known in the industry.  Name it she has it! If this isn't enough,  you should see her personal system.

So sorry to brake it to you guys,  she knows more about this business/hobby than any of us.

I am a woman audiophile, though I only discovered this wonderful Hi-Fi community a few years ago. While I am not very active on the forums (for obvious reasons), I love attending audio shows and meeting fellow audiophiles in person.

We may not be very visible online, but we certainly have our own ways of being part of the community. For example, check out the children’s book Passport to Sound 🙂
