Component faceplates

Black is my preferred choice in a Vincent 52 Lightning…. And in most Kit… I will admit to a Jones for Jadis and vintage Mac before blue meters… finally I had a beautiful wood faceplate crafted for my Herron phono preamp.. Ambrosia Maple…

I'm a child of the 70's and classic silver faceplates are my favorites.  Black is overdone.  Everybody does black.

I’m all black in my systems.  Love blue lights too.  Look beautiful when listening to music.  

Same as keswitzer, Pioneer SX-750 in my youth, Luxman L-590AX today.

My first hifi purchase was in 1977- a Pioneer receiver so my early days were all silver. Now it’s a mix- I have 4 pieces that are all silver, two that are all black, two that are black with silver switchgear, one that is black with silver corners, and an ancient Mac tuner that has a black glass faceplate with chrome accents. Turntables and speakers have wood finishes. 
 

Personally it really doesn’t matter to me. I also have a Marantz tuner sitting in its original box, from the Marantz NY days, that has a champagne faceplate. 
 

It’s all beautiful!!
