Where did you buy your first audio gear?
Tech Hifi- Manhattan store- in the 40's I think. 1970's- I think either 76 or 77
MoFi controversy
FWIW, AP's 2 disc 45 RPM Folk Singer is clearly superior, in my system, to the One Step Folk Singer.  Live and learn-
After the thrill is gone
I'm as thrilled with my speakers today as I was the day I bought them in 2015.
Thoughts on the Linn LP12 turntable
I am plenty happy with my LP12- next yer will be my 25th year owning it. Anyone who says the LP12 easily drifts out of adjustment has not had experience with an LP12 in at least 30 years. Frankly, one of the more remarkable improvements over the y...
Why are people paying these stupid tube prices?
@lpretiring  Who's asking 10K for a fuse? I gotta see this!
Speakers: Anything really new under the sun?
@holmz  "I can point to handfuls of speakers I would be happy with, from quite a few manufactures. That gets a lot harder in the $1000 range as there are usually 2 or more flaws so we have your “Pros and cons”… the better ones just have fewer con...

Anything SS sounds better than D'Agostino ?
@georgehifi  I'm quite pleased with my Pass gear. I have no calling on driving a .9 ohm load and I suspect neither do most folks. Mosfet mist? a term i've not heard in eons, yet in any event, I don't have any mosfet mist-  However, Pass certainl...
RCA cables to a subwoofer- how much does it matter?
@jtcf  Eh, not much of a highjack. Just a slight detour
