If there is no need for a switch, why put anything else in the signal chain. The reason for s switch is to share the internet line with more equipment. A switch is probably a better alternative to extra outputs on your router. Chord makes an excellent switch called 8 Switch that is also reasonably priced.
Ethernet switch worthwhile?
Is anyone using an audiophile ethernet switch for streaming as is it worth it? Recently was recommended using Uptone Audio EtherRegen switch to remove noise and jitter from the ethernet cable before it enters my Aurender N10 streamer. Or does the N10 also remove the same once it enters its own ethernet connection? Also read Synergistic Research ethernet switch is very good. Thoughts?

Do audiophiles switches improve the sound? Yes but to be noticeable one must have a transparent enough system and get a high enough audiophile quality switch as many lower efforts are commonly sonically lacking. Because you have the high quality N10 streamer, suggest getting at least the EtherRegen which is not much money. SR is a good choice for more money, but the best performance seems to be Network Acoustics or Reiki.
That’s a personal subjective call. I’ll eventually purchase the Reiki switch+LPS and it’s Reiki’s JundoStream Network Cable after the positive Stereophile review as I’m into dropping the noise floor in my highly revealing system - I’m still trying to rationalize my spending justification to myself 🙄 |
@fastfreight Cheers my friend--Happy Holidays as well.. |
+1 @lalitk Everything matters. It sounds like my set up is at least in the ballpark of the OP @lnitm I use a Triode wire labs freedom ethernet cable > small green computer isolation bundle with LPS > LHY-SW10 > a very short freedom ethernet cable > streamer. The LHY-SW10 is also connected to an external clock. Details of the whole system can be found in my house of stereo. It might be of interest if the ifi experiment is unsatisfactory. I kind of miss the journey part of it all. It's every audiophile's goal to get to a point where the sound you achieve is everything you always hoped for, but once there, while I love the sound immensely, I do find I miss the journey. Enjoy the journey! |
