Speaker for 300b amp?

What have you tried and what are you using?

I'm thinking of a single 300b per channel.

Prefer recommendations for current production speakers, not vintage unobtaniums.

Lastly, what is it you like about your combination?

These types of posts probably aren't well received, but I 'm using my Cube Bliss C speakers with an Elekit TU8900 with a pair of Western Electric 300b tubes and they sound great together. I currently have a much more expensive pair of wideband speakers on order, so if anyone has any interest please PM me.

I love my 300B system. It is a headphone system. The head amp produces very large current (for headphones) and sounds spectacular. My main system uses tubes (but not 300B)... but easily drive my speakers. In this way, I get to enjoy 300B without the significant compromises you must endure if you power your main speakers with them.

It's raining here in the PNW. A good morning for the Blues.

Someone mentioned Reference 3A and I thought I'll pull mine out.

I did a heretical thing and placed them on top of the JBL4367s, symmetrically.

Unfortunately, the cables to the big speakers are heavy. They are not appropriate to hang off the back of the MM de Capo-i up there on the JBLs so I am looking for the other speaker cables. The idea was to play around with some smaller amps.

I played Chess Piano Greats Disc 1 (50th Anniversary Collection) and Blues Hit Big Town with the small speakers on top of the big speakers, the small speakers just passively sitting there not jumpered or anything. They have a sloped baffle.

ASTONISHING!!!

The sound is pushed into the room and the whole house with improved coherency.

When I find the other cables I'll try the de Capos. But for now, WOW.

This month’s TONE magazine is on-line now and has some good reviews for you.

Enjoy…
