Honestly, gaslighting has become a major component of audio marketing.
For example, recently on another thread here, a guy who makes DACs was being suggested to that given the price point of his products, he might want to consider outfitting them in more upscale enclosures, and in fact his DACs look like Aliexpress cases adorned with text in faux hand-drawn fonts.
His answer? His DAC enclosures are engineered for maximum fidelity, thus they sound better than high-end custom aluminum enclosures. Not bad, eh?
