Audible Shiny Gloss on Used Records--How to Remove?

Some people use to wipe the record with lighter fluid (to clean the surfaces) that causes a sheen that is permanent. 

Try some Dawn in the sink. It’s a pretty effective general solvent. 

Its not Gruv Glide! , Its most likely a vinyl record treatment, one such company (there were a few) was LAST record treatment, this will never come off.

Yep I also think it’s LAST. It might come off with strong record cleaner solvent. LAST was all the hype back when it came out. I’ve treated a few records with it. You have to go super easy/light. I stopped treating records with it because I think it’s bull 💩. I also thought I noticed the sound got slightly darker but I’m not sure if it’s in my head or it’s really changed since I can’t A/B before and after quick enough.

I went into a record store and–I kid you not–the proprietor was cleaning used records with an aerosol furniture polish resulting in a great shine.
