A new dac?

Guys, help me out here.

My dac which I've been using for a number of years now is a Mytek Stereo192 DSD.

Came out in 2013, I think and was $1600 retail.

Still think it sounds good, but I've nothing to compare it to.

My question: If you are familiar with this dac or similar, what would I have to spend minimum to better it, and what do you think​​ will better it?

I enthusiastically await the responses of the cognoscenti. (Wanted to use that word in a sentence since I read it in Calvin and Hobbes!)

DAC de jour…

I am so 2013 

to the OP your well thought out system imo deserves a streamer DAC like a NAIM.. you will love Qobuz and save on a pricy cable and linear power supply itch later on…

I'm going to waffle again and most likely keep my Mytek..

I will however be buying a streamer and getting a Qobuz subscription.

Hope you won’t try to find a DAC-Streamer with your DAC budget 😉

I still have my Ayre QB9 Twenty from back in the prehistoric days. The Ayre is my least expensive piece but I was able to tune my HiFi and have no reason to replace the Ayre.

Have you had any time to check out any of the DAC suggestions? I have the Denafrips Pontus ll and really like the sound, but I have the upgrade DAC bug also and would be interested in hearing where you’re at in you new DAC journey.
