which speaker is better suited for Rock and Roll

I started a blog a while back on speakers suited for rock and roll and the responses were great.  Just to refresh, Listen to Rock only, 85 db to 90 or so. Somewhat small room 13x13' with doors at either end. (square room more or less) Amp that will be used Pass X250.8, good meitner DAC, Bricasti streamer, SVS SB 3000 sub, Benchmark LA-4 pre amp. Stream Qobuz through Audirvana.  Current System with FRITZ carbon 7 SE Mk2  are Very Good. Keeping them regardless. Would like to see if I could jump up several rungs on the ladder (bigger sound stage, more clarity, more dynamic, etc)  better MIDS and highs. Speakers that have been heard are Sonus Faber Guarneri (EXCELLENT, but EXPENSIVE) vs (haven't heard) Joseph AUDIO Graphene Pulsar, and Acora MRB (bookshelf)  Marten Parker DUO, (haven't heard) but, most likely out of my price range unless used somewhere.  The two top contenders are the Joseph audio pulsar vs The Sonus Faber Guarneri.   If anyone has either or both or has heard them , would love to hear your opinions or suggestions, probably last speaker for my lifetime here. For about 5 to 6 K I recommend Verity Audio Parsifal Encore. They are great sounding, well built, come in flight cases, can be set up with front or rear firing woofers, and work great in rooms your size. Deep base, sweet midrange, detailed enough highs. Some people think they're boring but if you have a chance, give them a listen. Excellent value.

Thanks all,  so very much. Your suggestions and help have been great.  I depend on Audiogon so much. After weeks, maybe months of reading and traveling to a few audio stores in the Nashville area, I made a decision 2 days ago. 

I am the proud owner (demo pair) of Sonus Faber Guarneri  G5 stand a mounts. The color is called Wenge. I'll be paying on them forever. They were the MOST, in the sound dept., not to mention looks. If you have heard them before you will understand, if not, try a listen sometime, you will be truly amazed, I was. Later today, as I have been quite busy, I will take my first listen. Can't wait. Folks seem to overlook Magnepans for rock but with  subs to handle the low end they are unbelievable. I’m 90% rock and the Maggie is crystal clear with space and separation. You could grab a pair of 3.7.i and a couple of subs. I’m powering mine with a Pass 250.8 and have no desire to look further.

Congratulations! Great choice, even if you will be paying them off forever you will likely be enjoying them for many times longer. They are great speakers. Once I found Sonus Faber I realized it was impossible to think I would ever change brands. I have upgraded twice and now have Amati Traditional. 

A reminder, they will take a hundred hours or more to break in. It will take time to get placement right. I typically use some process to get them placed. Then wait a few months until I really understand the sound and start slowly experimenting with the details of placement again.


Enjoy... I am sure you will. Not only the sound quality... but it is great having really beautiful speakers.

Great choice , you made a good decision.  Enjoy.   That's a speaker that does just about everything right.
