I would try the Pontus 15th. It's around $2K. Has gotten amazing reviews. There is also a new dac from a division of Denafrips-- the Garlubidor Divinity, which is a little less than 2K. Unlike the Pontus, it has a display screen and 2 IIS inputs, if that is what you are looking for. Also got a great review by Steve Huff. Good luck. I'm buying one of the two in the next couple of months. Haven't decided which one yet.
A new dac?
Guys, help me out here.
My dac which I've been using for a number of years now is a Mytek Stereo192 DSD.
Came out in 2013, I think and was $1600 retail.
Still think it sounds good, but I've nothing to compare it to.
My question: If you are familiar with this dac or similar, what would I have to spend minimum to better it, and what do you think will better it?
I enthusiastically await the responses of the cognoscenti. (Wanted to use that word in a sentence since I read it in Calvin and Hobbes!)

Were it me looking for a new DAC, I’d be looking at highly acclaimed Benchmark DAC3 as a cost effective, high performance and low risk option. For something way different I am still a fan of mhdt and NOS DACs in general, if they are even still a thing. The Cambridge Audio DACs I mostly use these days are also rock solid options. Can’t find a fault and they competed well at CAF last weekend. Also I suspect one cannot go wrong with Schitt. Another overachiever last weekend at CAF. I have a Schitt preamp but not a DAC to-date.
