Narrowed down to the Kef R11 meta, but the bass?

After a few weeks of searching, I think I've narrowed it down to the Kef R11 meta.

But there is one open issue: the bass.  I listened to them at the Best Buy store which has questionable setup.  The cables are some cheapy stuffs and the length probably too long so it might affect the speakers dynamic and the bass.  The play list they have is fairly limited so I couldn't quite able to assess the speakers capability especially the BASS.

So my question for R11 owners, what do you think of the bass?  Is it a bit lackking?

There are very few speakers that don't really benefit from have a sub or two to support them.  Also, your room will determine how much effective bass is there since you should get some room effect that adds a couple of Hz lower extension.

The R11 Meta are good speakers and should be fine for most music but I would want a sub or two for movies and music with a lot of bass.

I have had the R11 non-meta for about 2.5 years. I did pair them with a Rythmik F12SE, but they have great extension and sound on their own. Perhaps the best bang for the buck out there.

The only reason I am selling them is a pair of KEF Reference 3’s were available for local pickup at a price I could not resist. It’s actually amazing how similar in sound the R11’s and Ref 3’s are, with a $9K difference in retail.

Go for the R11’s, you won’t be disappointed!

Don’t know if this is appropriate, but want to buy a new DAC & wife won’t give permission until I sell the R11’s. So if anyone is interested in a one owner, perfect condition, all original boxes & accessories, gloss back R11’s, please IM me. They are beasts, so local pickup (Cary, NC) is ideal, but will ship.

I want the new DAC, so very motivated.

SVS Ultra Evolution Pinnacle Towers have incredible bass (4-8 inch woofers per enclosure) and sound natural and clear.  No offense but you could not pay me to listen to own the KEF R11 meta.  Too artificial.
