High current amp search

Hello, so as the title says, I'm looking for a 200+ wats amp (8ohm) that will double it's power down to 2 ohms but importantly also check all the audiophile boxes so strong, articulate, fast bass, smooth resolving mid-range and extended non fatiguing highs. It's proving to be rather difficult because hardly any manufacturers list  output into 2ohms. Budget is around 4000$ so I'm looking at mostly used. Besides something like the Krell FPB 300/400 CX which can be had for that much , what else can be recommended?

Once again I need to reiterate, I'm not looking for an monster watt amp, I'm looking for an amp that puts out the correct amount of watts into the lower impedances. The reason is to have a flat frequency response across the board. Bass being the culprit. I don't need 500 watts into 8 ohms, honestly 150 would be probably enough. I'm interested in the 2 ohm rating. So let's say 600 in this case. When I said high current, that's what I meant. In any case im pretty sure I narrowed it down, thanks to all the suggestions in this thread. It's been appreciated.

@devinplombier i have only required subwoofers since i re-orientated my room.

Initially my speakers were benefitting from the two foot thick rubble walls of my traditional Scottish cottage. However i installed full width windows across the other side of my room and changed the orientation so that when sitting in the LP i now look out of the windows. It was soon apparent that I'd lost some drive solidity and bass extension, hence the move to subwoofers.

Dear @soix  : I know Steve from the earlier 90's when I bougth the tip toes and through the years I listen his electronics.

The Steve electronics today not yet has the Boulder or Dartzeel status. However the Levinson 20's has it after the change of those electrolitic caps in the power supply that any one of us can change with out solder/unsolder any thing due that those caps are screwed and only need to take out the topand bottom plates to do it and the Vishay caps we can get from MOUSER Electronics for around 400.00 the 4 caps.

The 20'sare the State of the Art design coming from the legendary John Curl designer. Is a100 w.of pure class A at 8 ohms and puts 800 watts at 1 ohm and can goes even to 0.5 ohm.and in that link you can pay lower than 5K for the pair monoblocks.

It has severaladvantages a one way important for the OP because using the 20's he does not needs an external HP crossover and additional cables or the sub's HP electronics due that the amps are coupled by a cap. So we only have to change at the input circuit board the Wima 2.2uf input cap for another Wima with way lower value to have that 80hz HP filter.

@rauliruegas do you not prefer the character of your main speakers (in the upper sub bass region) to the character of your subs?

I find that if my subs roll in any higher than 40hz for general listening, 44hz for 90's electronica or a maximum of 54hz for some dub reggae, there is a sense that the subs are treading on my Focal's toes in a way that thickens the bass and is less articulate, and generates less slam.

The alternative for me would be to swap out my Velodynes for Focal sub Utopias, but two things prevent this. One is the cost, since the sub utopias are passive id have to invest in some serious amplification, especially as I'm about to add a third pair of dd18+, and the other is the disappointing on paper frequency response of the focal subs, they arent really rated much lower than the same field coil bass drivers in the Stellas. I've got used to a system that is flat to 15hz, and having lived with that i have no desire to go back
