High current amp search

Hello, so as the title says, I'm looking for a 200+ wats amp (8ohm) that will double it's power down to 2 ohms but importantly also check all the audiophile boxes so strong, articulate, fast bass, smooth resolving mid-range and extended non fatiguing highs. It's proving to be rather difficult because hardly any manufacturers list  output into 2ohms. Budget is around 4000$ so I'm looking at mostly used. Besides something like the Krell FPB 300/400 CX which can be had for that much , what else can be recommended?

This is an end game level amp.

@soix

Re that eBay listing, I think I would get its serial # and confirm the authenticity of the handwritten Platinum inscription on the back panel with the factory

Once again I need to reiterate, I'm not looking for an monster watt amp, I'm looking for an amp that puts out the correct amount of watts into the lower impedances. The reason is to have a flat frequency response across the board. Bass being the culprit. I don't need 500 watts into 8 ohms, honestly 150 would be probably enough. I'm interested in the 2 ohm rating. So let's say 600 in this case. When I said high current, that's what I meant. In any case im pretty sure I narrowed it down, thanks to all the suggestions in this thread. It's been appreciated.

@devinplombier i have only required subwoofers since i re-orientated my room.

Initially my speakers were benefitting from the two foot thick rubble walls of my traditional Scottish cottage. However i installed full width windows across the other side of my room and changed the orientation so that when sitting in the LP i now look out of the windows. It was soon apparent that I'd lost some drive solidity and bass extension, hence the move to subwoofers.

Dear @soix  : I know Steve from the earlier 90's when I bougth the tip toes and through the years I listen his electronics.

The Steve electronics today not yet has the Boulder or Dartzeel status. However the Levinson 20's has it after the change of those electrolitic caps in the power supply that any one of us can change with out solder/unsolder any thing due that those caps are screwed and only need to take out the topand bottom plates to do it and the Vishay caps we can get from MOUSER Electronics for around 400.00 the 4 caps.

The 20'sare the State of the Art design coming from the legendary John Curl designer.Is a100 w.of pure class A at 8 ohms and puts 800 watts at 1 ohm and can goes even to 0.5 ohm.and in that link you can pay lower than 5K for the pair monoblocks.

It has severaladvantages a one way important for the OP because using the 20's he does not needs an external HP crossover and additional cables or the sub's HP electronics due that the amps are coupled by a cap. So we only have to change at the input circuit board the Wima 2.2uf input cap for another Wima with way lower value to have that 80hz HP filter.
