What's the Best Value McIntosh Stereo Amps?

Most of us here either already own a McIntosh amp or aspire to own one at one point. Yet the prices keep on rising so the dream seems less and less accessible. But there are so many amazing McIntosh amps that have launched in the past. Navigating the huge catalogue of MCs can be tough. Here is a selection to navigate this, highlighting some of the best value and hidden gems McIntosh stereo amps.

I agree with most of these. Only question mark is the MC275, of course an incredible amp, but is it that much of a great value? Not really hidden gem though.

Which ones would you add or remove from this list?

Almost anything McIntosh is a good value on the secondary market provided you purchase from a reputable establishment that will support your purchase over the long term. You'll probably pay more initially but you really can explore your heart's desire and be satisfied with any McIntosh product new or used.

I've owned an MR77 tuner used, and new MA5300 integrated, MAC7200, as with all McIntosh tuners among the best ever made and the built in phono stage is outstanding. I still have for keeps my MCT80 transport and MDA200 DAC. All good!

OP states:    "Most of us here either already own a McIntosh amp or aspire to own one at one point."..       Quite an assumption....

You are right that was a strong statement! Let me rephrase to “Some of us here…”

Beautiful industrial design and solid build quality but never warmed up to both the vintage and contemporary Mc-sound.
