Have you ever been logged in, typed a forum thread response, then clicked "post" only to be prompted to relog-in to Audiogon? Of course, once you do log-in again, your post is now in the ether.
@mitch2 Yes, but that was less frequent than my post just disappearing due to a page refresh that seemed to happen every five minutes or so but is still very annoying. But, to be fair, I’ve been happily using Brave Browser and the login thing happens there too although not all that frequently. What happens more often is when I click “post” I’m redirected to verify I’m human, which often is fine but if enough time has passed while on one page I’ll get an “Oops” message and lose my post. So as @devinplombier mentioned (Ha! BTW) I still copy my responses before hitting “post” just as a precaution, but overall the experience on Brave has been revelatory coming from the disaster I was experiencing previously.
All that said, I just briefly went back to A’gon using my other browser (Safari) and noticed they’ve removed the ads on the right border and just the ones on the top and bottom were still there, so it appears they’ve done something and the site did seem to be working faster during the short time I was there. I’ll try posting some responses there to see if the dreaded “refresh monster” is still at work, and if it is I’ll be outta there again cause I’m not putting up with that crap anymore — absolutely intolerable and inexcusable. I’m also gonna recommend they look into reducing the frequency of us having to verify we’re human — I know that’s important to avoid the previous Bot disaster so am fine with it, but it seems to happen more frequently than may be necessary to be effective and is likewise disruptive and very annoying when it ends up erasing a response in progress. In any event, it appears A’gon has made good on their word and has at least done something to try to fix it, which is much appreciated, but time will tell.
