which excels at Rock and Roll

Room is 14X14' No treatments, but, room currently sounds great. Amp PASS X250.8, Fritz Carbon 7se bookshelves, LA-4 preamp, SVS SB3000 sub, Bricasti M5 streamer, Meitner DAC, only Rock and Roll, 85 or so DB   Considering used, Platimon VC 1, Arendal 15-28,  Marten  Oscar, Acora MRB-1, and Small tower, Devore Fidelity Gibbon super 9. There are others, but, I believe these would be the top contenders, USED?  Any and all responses welcomed. Love my FRITZ and won't sell. Just considering the above. Thanks, Robert TN

OP

have you considered JBL 4367 or any of their large monitor speakers

I was listening to one a few weeks ago listening to Rock and roll and Dance music

I was pretty impressed with their sonic and PRAT flow. made me dance for sure

if it were me, I will choose JBL.

I have no experience with the Mon or Marten Oscar speakers, and wouldn't recommend the Devore for rock. Of the speakers that you listed, and considering the relatively small size of your room:

I love the Arendal 1528 bookshelf $5,200 and 1528 monitor $6,800 for all types of music, and they are on my short list for my next set of speakers. Pay attention that the 1528 monitors weigh in at 100 pounds each, so you'll need their stands at $1,500 a pair.

Acora speakers too are great, but I don't like the ceramic drivers in the MRB-1 or MRC-1.......they can be unforgiving on poor recordings. The next step up QRBs are much more to my liking, and too are on my short list.

If I may be so bold, I'd suggest you speak with Greg Roberts at Volti to schedule a listening session for his speakers......which he'll set up at his factory. He's a tremendous gentleman, and the Voltis might just fit your needs. He's in Baxter, TN which is about an hour and 15 minutes east of Nashville. His speakers too are on my short list, probably the Luceras.

When you go to Nashville, I'd check out HiFiBuys and see the Yamaha NS5000 speakers. Not a brand that typically comes to mind first, but man are they brilliant speakers.

Thank you so much for the info. I really like the Acora mrb-1 a lot.  Not crazy about the spade plugs required though. Appreciate the info on the Devore super 9 for rock. If you want a good laugh, I had met Greg about a year ago at his home/shop in Baxter, TN. He gave me a very nice tour and showed me his whole operation, spent about 3 hours. Didn't listen to any speakers though. I may call him and ask to demo a pair possibly. Was looking mainly for a bookshelf, just wondering if his would be too much for the room. Funny part now, I live 5 minutes from his house/shop.   The 1528's are on my list as well. Very reasonably priced.  I just finished and email to Arandal, REF: tweeter/mid range height for listening. My current listening height for my Fritz is 39," Current table is 26"  The tweeter height on the 1528 is 16.5 inches from the bottom of the cabinet. If you do the math, you either accept the additional height or get  about a 22 to 23 inch stand or table?  Kinda where I'm at now.  Hope some of this helps you. Robert

All systems come with house sound. The trick is finding the house sound you like and will to live with for awhile regardless of genre of music
