@lalitk The Eames are comfortable enough and have a big big cool factor but as you have got Tannoys the Eames will be lower than the very often recommended have your ears near the tweeters rule. A neighbour gave me an immaculate vintage Eames. What an amazing gift. I was stunned. However, I compared the Eames to the Stresless for SQ and it was no contest. Ears up. Needle down.
Chair
I’ve been thoroughly bitten by the couch. My listening chair that is.
I’m forced to cut my listening sessions short due to lower back pain (chronic, result of an old injury). Looking to get something that would be comfortable enough to not aggravate the nerve in my tukhes and align properly with my speakers in a sweet spot.
Eames replica in leather? Ikea Poang? Anything else? What do you use?

I had a stressless and got rid of it because the back of the chair extended above my head and messed up the sound; got an Eames chair and ottoman 3 years ago and haven't looked back (I also like to swivel, which my stressless couldn't do). It is lower than most listening chairs, but my particular monitor speakers (Marten Parker Duo) and stands are designed to be a lot higher than most speakers are, with ear level being towards the lower half of woofer, so that slight difference in chair height doesn't make much difference. |
“The best thing is to get up often. I seldom sit for more than 30 minutes at a time” Those classic 45 rpm reissues makes me get up 10–12 minutes 😄 |
FYI. Stressless has many different sizes and models and the small or medium works for my ears being above the top. I’m shrunk down to 5’8.5” with more shrinkage assured; dang it. The in house recliner chairs at Scandinavian design go above your ears and below your ears best. Been there; done that. I think this was my first Bold text on the forums; maybe italic will follow?

@lalitk no not yet. Vacations and other life matters took priority. Soon though. I’ve tried stressless (sat in it in the store) and it was super comfortable. Haven’t decided on anything yet. Still want to try eames replica. |
