Don’t worry about class a or a/b. Coda is excellent. There’s barely any difference with Pass or Coda when these amps transition out of Class A.
CODA 8 V1
Just bought a used Coda 8 V1 Wow am I impressed. Could someone answer a question that the instructions don't address, or I missed it. It has to do with the meter lights. I'm sure it has to do with the sensitivity of the meters. They give you an option of pressing the button ( on each side) to give you a green light or an orange light, flanking it on either side is a bright blue light that indicates the unit is operating correctly. Could someone just clarify what the pressing of the button does, whether choosing green or orange? thanks so much!!! What a great amp!!!!!! Robert Tn

Thanks all for the posts. I spoke with the the salesman about it this AM. He explained about the scale not being what I thought it was. Have a much better understanding now. Will most likely use the buttons that change to green, that represent the lower scale, I mentioned to the salesman on that scale, earlier,that I was seeing about 30 to 40 watts. He stated that actually represents about 10 to 12 watts being used, still in class A. REGARDLESS, WHAT AN AMP!!!! |
@robshaw I own the Coda #8 V1 with blue meters. The 18 watts of Class A is actually more like 10-12 watts into 4 ohms. I got this information directly from Doug Dale at Coda. |
Gotta ask. What happened to the original idea [other thread] of using the Coda no. 8 amp paired with the Fritz speakers?
