Buying used from Canada

Hi, if you are based in USA and you buy used hifi from Canada do you get taxed on it when it arrives?  Talking about $2000ish.  Or if you use fed-ex will it come straight through?  Thanks for your time

Yup as I thought. Prior to 2025 when I received goods from Canada via USPS I never paid Duties or taxes. Can't say what will happen in 2025 ...

Oh thank you, yes, to be clear, my transactions were years ago. I have no idea what the process would be like today.

Could possibly negotiate the seller pays? The one time I sold to someone in Canada, they offered to pay the fee in addition to my selling price.

I do not think you have to pay the 25% tariff on sued audio equipment.
