The best plug in filter ever!

Mark just shipped mine out today.and I really hope this “new kid on the block, Furon” has what it takes.

I currently have total of 8 or 9 HFC MC-05 and MC-1 in my system and really love everyone of them…. Yet, I’m still very much excited to see how will this Furon perform in my system tmrw…

so my Puron just came in this morning. I was skeptical yet very excited.

First, I plugged it in elsewhere the house to warm in up while I’m pre-listening over my selected songs before the fun.

When plug in, there is a very small blue LED lighted up at the very top of the cylinder which I though it was cool. It took about 10 min to start hearing something "difference" and about 15 min later, the magic starting to appear. Now, after 2 hours, it plays beautifully.

This Puron lowers white noise greatly which helps improve soundstage and imaging a lot. It is quieter. Bass is even more defined and tuneful.... giving the impression similar to HFC Q45T liquid enhancer minus authority and organic.

Since I have 5 HFC MC-5s and 2 MC-1s AC filters, how’d this Puron interact with the magnets was crossing my mind too but Mark reassured that i’d be ok.

In fact, I plugged this Puron in my power conditioner Puritan PSM-156 next to series of HFC magnets and it sings flawlessly without problems.

Physically comparing between the 2, Puron and MC-05??? the metal prongs on Puron isn’t as high quality but it grips VERY snugly and tightly. Its casing is lighter but VERY strong and I actually like that more. MC-05s built like a bullet proof but their heavy weighted can sometimes pull itself down and away from the AC outlet especially the MC-1s.

System still playing and I will be back for more critical listening late tonight...

So far, I’m giving this Puron a thump up.

@lowrider57 order it quickly because I think Mark is at his very last Puron. Next lot will arrive around new year and yes, lol, he won’t expose what technology they are using, but heck, it sure works great in my system.

I’m unable to do A/B test Puron with my HFC magnets because I already have 7 pieces of them in system so it’s not fair to say this.... the effect that this Puron benefits my system is greater than what I got from a single MC-05.
Here’s a twist, with HFC magnets, it just gets better one after another, but with just 1 Puron, I feel… completed and satisfied (or if it was the combo of HFC magnets + Puron?)

Couldn’t resist its outstanding performance… I now have a 2nd Puron in my system.

This morning, after nearly 20 hours, my system was clearly undeniable became sweeter, nicer PRAT, more magical, 3D- so much more engaging … I just had to get my hand on a 2nd Puron.

A quick phone call and an hour later… met up with Mark and I got myself another one YES . Christmas this year came early.

@shkong78 Hello Thomas, I really love them Purons and I never get a chance to thank you directly. ALthough they are still at very low hours, my system is really singing beautifully and effortlessly so THANK YOU

Purons Update:

Well, I did it guys. I unplugged the Puron off the system and wow, is this how I enjoyed my music before? Almost instantly, the soundstage starting to collapse. Imaging starting to wash out and smeared not a whole lot but most definitely noticeable. Tonality shifts up a bit and becomes slightly brighter and scratchier.  Purons seem to work for me up to this point.

1 in Puritan 156 and 1 in HFC MC-6 Signature 3D

The one in Puritan156 has greater result since my Jeff Rowland amp and Lumin streamer connect into. Along with my series of MC-05s and MC-1s magnets

other on MC-6 is just a group of internet router, subwoofers etc

@lowrider57 sorry Buddy. I was going to wait til next year to purchase a 2nd one. I want to make sure if the first Puron will work in my system first and if it’s worth the money.

As I mentioned earlier about its sounding character, Purons and HFC magnets results in my system a bit differently. I thinkThe Purons sound similar to HFC Q-45T enhancer- warmer and fuller, more musical and authority. (NPS-1260’s crisp, clean more revealing and detailed )

The spot I chose to put on the 2nd Puron at HFC MC-6 power conditioner is just a temporary. I will find a spot for it on my main Puritan-156 Pwr conditioner along with the first Puron and my chain of series HFC magnets after Christmas. Cheers

Note: I have 2 separate dedicated AC lines for each power conditioners via hospital grade Hubble AC outlets.

I have 3 components plug in my Puritan156, Jeff Amp, Lumin streamer and Uptone EtherRegen internet. The rest are for Pwr strip of magnets and now Puron. Please share your findings. Thanks

My Furon update,

So I have my 2 Purons in system for about 3 weeks or a month now and they sing beautifully … still.
How can I characterize them?
Well, With my HFC MC-05s plug-in filters, I can clearly hear their characters and what they do to my system with an impact of.. say, 2-3% of over all improvement of each 05 filters. (I also have HFC MC-1s in my system)

With Purons , it seems to work differently, they just makes my music more beautiful and complete. it’s so hard to explain it but it probably got something to do with clocking and timing? It removes graininess and white noise and the “S” sound. Music is smoother and effortless but never warmer or darker. What I love most about Purons is how they improve sound-staging and imaging. I can “see” singers, performers cleaner and clearer. I’m not going to say a Puron can out perform my HFC MC-1s(because I paid too much for them, lol) but these Purons can easily surpass my MC-05s.

My next test will be removing them Purons from my system and play without them for a week…

So I removed 1st Puron and then 2nd Puron from my system…. I thought the difference would be minimal but wow I was wrong. The sound quality quickly degraded. It became so grainy and scratchy. Soundstage and image were unbearable that I had to plug them back in within an hour.
Originally, I really wanted to leave them off system for at least few days for mind and ears have time to adjust and accept new sound? that’d be a $500 of saving…

Not yet, I want to observe its raw, effectiveness and signature sounding first. As i shared previously on this thread, these Purons sound very similar to Q45-T… which means, warmer and fuller than NPS-1260

At the moment, It’s right on the money in my system. By Adding more Q-45T, I’m afraid my system would prob be too dark or too warm.

Between you and me, Pete, this Puron is actually more effective than MC-05 and more beautiful sounding

@ozzy I have 5 of MC-05 and 2 of MC-1. I left them in when adding Purons in my system. The finding was posted here in this thread.

I can not yet for 2 reasons, my system currently sounding wonderful. 2nd, TESLA stock is falling off the sky and I’m hurting.

@68pete I have had 2 Purons over a month now and still letting them play raw without adding HFC Q45T enhancer.

Has anyone used more than 2 Purons in a system yet?

I already have 1 Puron plugged in at wall feeding my Conditioner Puritan 156. The 2nd Puron is on third bank of Puritan 156. Per Ozzy, I shall try the 2nd Puron toward to 1st bank to see what changes.

Because of characteristic differences between NPS-1260 and Q45-T, IMO, 1260 may match better with Purons than Q45T? Thats just my guess now.

At the moment, I’m still running the Purons "raw & naked" but I’d try myself 1260 on Purons first way before Q45T.

Heck, I may give Mad Scientist enhancer another try on Puron as it’s just laying around...

Holly crap. I switched my 2nd Puron’s location from 3rd bank to 1st bank of my conditioner Puritan 156 and the result was amazing and outstanding. More revealing, more air, space and 3D. More micro details yet more emotion as well. Overall, it sounds cleaner and still maintain musicality.

Important note: it took 20 to 30 mins to started to sing. At first initial switched, music was so dull and dark.... I was disappointed and almost switched them back and called it a day.

A way to get both Purons in front of my conditioner is to put both Purons on splitters extension cord and plug them in same wall power outlet that feed my conditioner.

@ozzy I still have not moved my 2nd Puron next to 1st Puron at wall outlet yet. It is still at 1st bank of my Puritan 156 and yes, the result still jaw-dropping good- more revealing, clean and very musical. Best sounding I’ve achieved so far.

I love Purons. What they do to my system is different with HFC magnets. For $250 each, Purons could be 1 of the best tweaks I have ever experienced. 
I see that 68pete had moved both Purons in front of system with great success….I still have not done so…. still got stuck in my listening chair.

How much is the price increase and why?

They are great products and I had shared many positive feedbacks here..... now  I’m feeling like shooting my own foot.
