price of WireWord ECLIPSE III DISCRETE BIWIRE

I can purchase a pair of  sedond hand WireWord ECLIPSE III DISCRETE BIWIRE, 4 M lenght, just what I need. Has anybody an idea of the price of these cables new? I use now MONSTER CABLE Z2B BIWIRE. I assume it will be a big improvement. Any advice on this cable also welcome. my amp: Classé CA2200 + B & W 803.

@digitalviper

Why do you say that? WW is a well known highly respected company selling internationally for well over a decade

I guess my first question would be:

Why do you assume it would be a big improvement? You like what you like. An improvement? Probably. A "Big" improvement......maybe.

My second question is:

They don’t make that version of those cables anymore. I believe WireWorld’s Eclipse is up to version 8. They certainly weren’t "cheap" when they were new, that’s for sure. If I had to guess, I would probably say they were around $1500-ish new. Somewhere in that ballpark, I'd wager.

I think they also came in a couple of different "flavors" (silver/copper, etc....)

IME (at least with my Classe CA-2200/ speaker setup), any silver cable I’ve tried makes my system sound VERY bright. I stick with all copper cables. YMMV, depending on what you like and what those cables are actually made of.

If you’re purchasing from a store, see what the return policy is. You might eat some $$$ on a restocking fee, but if you hate them, at least you’re not out the whole amount.

It's a private seller, and I would only buy if I can try them first. It is the copper version, not the silver or gold version, which were more expensive. Seller is reluctant to let me try first. So we'll see.
Why would you think a private seller would ship you a set of cables for a free trial.  If they are used and you want them then buy them.  If you don't like them re-sell them like he is doing.  These used equipment sites are not Amazon.
That's a pretty big ask from a private seller.

I agree with @jackd , if you think you want them and the price is right, buy them and give them a shot.
You might love them.
But if you don't like them, put them back up for sale.

wireworld today makes very well built (if rather high priced) cables

they have a terrific record for quality and good sound stemming back from their start some 20 years ago - to me, their higher value cables are excellent

as many successful cable makers do, they have some very very expensive products for that segment of the buyer market... which i generally avoid
All of you, thx a lot for the advice. I live in Belgium and the seller lives in the neighbourhood. Just a few miles away. He offered at 406 $, for 2 x 4 M (= 2 x 13 ft) wich seems a bargain to me.  He has also great vintage JBL control monitors on sale (4435), but those are out of my league at the moment. I would pay him of course the full amount while trying the cables at home, he agreed at first, but does not reply any more. I assume he changed his mind.
