Its back to the question of whether you are an audiophile or a musicophile.

I'm not sure the two have to necessarily be mutually exclusive :) .
Find me an A-B comparison where no one knows which is which, using exactly the same equipment.

Since no one has passed the amplifier test,  I would need a double blind comparison study before I would pay $700 for a set of cables.  Put the money into your speaker system.

So many cables, so little time. I suspect it would probably take upwards of six months just to do a thorough evaluation of just 4 brands of speaker cables. That's assuming you don't change anything in the system the entire time. Factor in cryogenics and the Audiodharma Cable Cooker if you wish to explore just what the cables under evaluation can really do. Then the time required, just for speaker cables, starts to approach a year. At that point, assuming you're not totally sick of evaluating speaker cables, you can start right in on evaluating interconnects. That will be another year. En it will be time for a change in Bobby's, no doubt. Perhaps model railroading.
You have to try Transparent....the only cable that will WOW you immediately and make you realize that you have been living in a cable wasteland!
I wrote earlier....Set Electrocompaniet ECI MK2 -Chord One CD ..Speaker-Nola Boxer.Argento and EcholeI listened to part / Elrode single cable Statement2 old .... but loved the bottom. other brands are not met.
Klip,

Realize the best sounding cables often depends on the specific task at hand.

You'll probably just get info on what each person likes in THEIR system rather than what might work best for you unless you provide more info.

If you provide more info on what your system is and what goals you are trying to accomplish with teh wires, that would probably help.
If you want the smoothest sound with a broad range of music try copper cables. I have Cardas Clear and for less money Cabledyne Reference.

I've tried many cables over the years and find that copper Audioquest goes well with anything. I've never had a situation where they didn't sound good. You don't have to go for anything really expensive, either. You can get great sound from their low and mid priced cables.
I like AQ too. Very musical and easy to live with. Here's an XLR interconnect at $169/1M pair.

AQ CV-8 speaker cable $300 for 8' pair down from $800.

As for power cords, you'll see several discounts on AQ power cords at HCM Audio.
Set Electrocompaniet ECI MK2 -Chord One -Nola Boxer.but maybe buy Electrocompaniet EMC-1UP.if it will be better than Chord One
Do yourself a favor and check Clear Day Cables out.
Paul will probably insist that you try a demo pair.
Stealth PGS IC, Anti Cable speaker, and VH power were where I stopped "upgrading" at...

Those Signal Cables look like a good value--silver/copper alloy handmade cables at entry-level prices.

Perhaps the OP would like to share his system component makeup, which can help determine a good cable matchup.
Best to always buy at monoprice.com, great sounding cables, great value. Spend the savings on music.
