Doing the Power Cord Thing
Try the Anticables 3.1 Reference PC $330 with 30 day returns.  It eliminates the DIY Syndrome and slays almost any other PC available.  If it’s results and music that matter most...not self inflicted pain.
What equipment have you bought this year so far ?
Got a pair of JBL 4429’s on a lark from MD (60 day trial).  Completely made me wonder why I wasted so much time and money on all the uber expensive transducers and gear I’ve owned in the past.  They just sound so much more like actual music than m...

Self delusion does wonders for ones psyche!
Doing the Power Cord Thing
Some people are masochistic.  They enjoy the sweet hell of their creation and there’s no one gonna tell them any different.  Enjoy!
The Science of Cables
I’d have to disagree Bo, based on owning a tremendous amount of equipment from many different manufacturers...from all tube designs to all SS with many different cable designs.  Silver just doesn’t sound as natural.  It can artificially add accent...
The Science of Cables
Alrighty then...IMHO and substantial experience, I have achieved my best results with either Transparent Cables or MIT.  Their superiority really becomes apparent when you compare them to other various cable manufacturers offerings in your own sys...
The Science of Cables
Had the new Audioquest stuff on trial...not bad, but any of their cables with all silver just sound hard to my ears.  Just passed minimum break in time for my Transparent Plus loom Gen 5....oh boy, the whole room is energized with dynamics and a f...
The Science of Cables
Anyway, revisited some of my favorite cables over the last 4 decades, including one newcomer;  MIT, Transparent, Audioquest and Anticables.  For my current setup, I have narrowed it down to Transparent and Anticables.  They all have their virtues ...

I think Bo likes Audioquest a little bit or am I reading into his thesis too much?
Doing the Power Cord Thing
I have had $4000 power cords and $330 power cords. Equipment dependent ultimately, but the Anticables 3.1 Reference is so damn good...it just let’s my amp do it’s best with clarity, dynamics and extension beyond reproach plus exquisite tone. I pre...
Lost all hearing in one ear, is it worth upgrading speakers?
Perhaps if you combine video with music it will enhance the enjoyment by engaging you visual acoustic senses, reducing your focus on monaural limitation.
The Harbeth phenomenon
Hearing the real thing is always humbling.  I used to be a drummer, so I have that “live” sound engrained in my DNA!  Dynamics, clarity and an uncompressed sense of ease are first and foremost with me...tone and texture also must ring true.  We al...

Can I use my calculator?
The Harbeth phenomenon
Sorry Valinar...forgot the IMHO!!  Did not mean to cast that net over anyone else.  I did go to my dealer to listen to the H40.1’s.  They are very good, smooth and clear with great tone (Macintosh gear).  My original thoughts were still validated ...

I’m sure you mean well Bo...keep your love of music and audio strong!  Perhaps see a psychiatrist once in awhile, but otherwise keep living your dream:)
