Audio Magic Clairvoyant Liquid Air AC cable

I am about to buy this cable to use on my Lampizator Dac.

Anyone have one in their system that could give me some feedback?

Looking for a dead quiet/open and extended AC wire. Budget 1.5K

If I could find the JPS Aluminata on the Gon I would buy but everyone is holding on to them. Hoping the AM will be as good or better.

The AM is the best cable I have ever had in my system.
If you want to get off the cable BS wagon then but a full loom of it.

The CT IC is more open sounding but after further tests in has a more organic sound. The CT is picking up a lot of noise and you can hear if out of my 101DB speakers. Changing to the AM the noise is cut in half. CT is standing me a shielded pIr of IC to try.

The CT SC sounds like wire and the AM does not. The AM speaker cable is far and away the very best I have heard. Better than my 7.7 JPS Aluminata.
thanx for the feedback Glory. So, it seems that the A-M SC is the winner so far (you need to test the CT shielded SC for the final results).
The contest, then, seems to be betwn the CT IC & the A-M IC: both seem to be good according to you but the CT IC seems to be even more organic.
Did I summarize correctly?
Based on your results I might want to try the CT IC - you have piqued my interest....

Glory, have you given the AM's enough time? I am very interested in a report back of your findings to date. IC PC and SC
I had the full Cerious loom a couple of years ago, when Six Moons first reviewed them. They were very musical but a little slow, and they rounded off transients and softened dynamics a little. They were also stiff and difficult to route. I can only compare based on memory, but as I recall the Cerious sound, the AM Clairvoyant Liquid Air is clearly superior to the Cerious AC cord, in every parameter.
I have a Clairvoyant Liquid Air AC cord running from my Bybee Power Purifier 'Stealth' power conditioner to my Modwright-Sony 5400ES SACD player (modified Sony transport - not the seprerate power supply). It has proven to be the best AC cord I have found in this particular use, besting Lessloss Signature, Tara Labs "The One", Kubala Sosna Emotion, and ASI Liveline cords. The Modwight-Sony 5400ES is a superb unit that has virtually no electronic signature with any of these cords. However with the the Liquid Air cord CD's and SACD's sound like high end vinyl. If I had to use one word to describe the sound of the Clairvoyant Liquid Air AC cord in this application it would be "analogue". However I preferred the Kubala Sosna cord on my modified Pathos TT RR amp. But I intend to listen to the Liquid Air cord on the Pathos again. The Liquid Air cord sounds different from all of these metal cords, and on the Pathos amp I had the sense that something was missing, particularly in the bass. However I am not sure that it weasn't a case of my ears not being used to a complete lack of metal and the electronic signature that metal cables have. Note that the Liquid Air cord was as fast as the ASI Liveline.
The AM LA seems disjointed and has a muddy film over the recording compared to the CT cable.
wow! i am surprised to read the word "disjointed" & "muddy film" in your feedback. I didn't think that they had either of these attributes......

Thanks for the feedback, Glory. From CT's website it looks like the power cable & the speaker cable are not liquid; rather metal based. Only the interconnects are liquid based (microfibers immersed in liquid ceramic).
So, which set of cables do you think that you'll end up keeping?
I have done some A/B with the CT vs. AM IC. The AM LA seems disjointed and has a muddy film over the recording compared to the CT cable. Both have the same spooky quiet background that only the JPS Aluminata previous brought to the table in my system.

Back in '05 when CT came out with this non metal cable the rap against it was that of a lackluster top end extension. That has been dealt with with the new Nano cable.

I do believe both AM/CT has what I think is cutting edge new technoloy that must be heard. If you want more of a romantic tube like sound then
the AM is for you. If you want a more revealing cable that digs out all that
is on the recording In an organic manner than the CT is for you.
AM only makes banana ends on their speaker cables and that will not work on Cardas posts.
not true exactly. while it is true that the "native" termination is banana, you should have gotten slip-on spades in a little baggie along w/ your SCs. if you did not, you should ask the seller. I'm using these slip-on spades & they work really well w/o any loss of sonics. FWIW.
Cell,

Have you the Cerious Ceramic cables in your system or heard them.

I am getting a loom of the CC cables and will A/B them with the AM loom - the speaker cable. AM only makes banana ends on their speaker cables and that will not work on Cardas posts.
I am using the Audio Magic Clairvoyant Liquid Air AC cord from my Bybee Power Purifier "Stealth" AC conditioner to the transport (the Sony box) of my Modwright modified Sony 5400ES (I have a Lessloss Signature on the seperate power supply). Haven't heard it with a DAC, but in my system it is the best AC cord I've heard with the 5400. I tried KS Emotion, ASI Liveline, Tara Labs The One, and several others on the 5400 and the Liquid Air cable easily bested them all. It is quiet, open, extended, fast, and musical, and is the most analogue sounding AC cable I've ever heard. The Liquid Air cable was a little bass shy on my modified Pathos TT - The KS Emotion was better there.

Glory, I have a full loom of LA Clairvoyants in my Lear Jet. My name is Elmer J fudd: Millionaire. I (also) own a mansion and a yacht.
what no Ferrari or Lamborghini? you need atleast one of these to have the complete image......
For a full loom I would need three more PC's. One to my CDP and a pair to my mono amps. My SC's are currently single-core silver unterminated. My Preamp has XLR out and Amps have RCA in, so I have a custom made IC of the same silver cable for that application. I am contemplating the value of a full set.

Audiofank - I am indeed talking about the interconnects - apologies for any confusion there.
Cfluxa - are you talking about power cords or interconnects?

If I am reading this correctly I think Glory is only comparing the power cords at this time.

Just trying to follow along.
I had on my ASR Emitter a JPS Aluminata PC and on my Lampizator dac an Illision 4D AM. Picked up the AM 4D used for cheap to hear the AM sound. I thought the 4D was good enough to spring for the AM Clair LA.

When I Sold the Aluminata I had to install an OK sounding ASR stock cable on the Emitter. Not an upgrade for sure but here comes the AM Clair LA in the Post and I now get to hear if this guy can carry the load the stock ASR dropped. Once installed, and the very first tune, I knew I had to wire my system in LA. The result was that of a greater degree of quietness and organic sound. I was taken back that it could outrun the JPS.

As I type a 20 amp LA is in the Post and it will go on the Emitter. I will post my findings.
I'm going to move up to the 1000.00 IC'S. They will be running from my source to a phono-pre.
Glory - I have found the Ridge Street Audio Poiema 3's to be quieter than Liquid Airs, as well as the KCI Silkworms, both of which are also very special cables in their own right. While those deliver a cleaner, quieter presentation, they don't quite deliver the meat on the bone that the Liquid Airs do. I think it's largely a question that's system-dependent as to which is better at the end of the day.
Taters, I noticed you are upgrading your LA IC's. One level up? One IC for now? To use from source? I'm considering adding more Clairvoyant PC's. Glory got me thinking about them again.
I don't, but I do have the Liquid Air Illusion ICs, and they are very special indeed. Depending upon one's priorities, I think the upper tiers of the Liquid Air line can go up against pretty much anything out there - not necessarily as dead clean and quiet as other top-of-the-line cables, though they certainly are quiet, but I think that's because they've got so much life in them - the weight, richness of tone and the dynamics - especially the micro dynamics - are to die for. You can hear the muscle behind a ride cymbal, a kick drum, the breath driving a flute. Like I said, it's special.

Makes me curious about the power cables, if I weren't already so happy with my Sablon Audios...
Got the AC cable in my system and it by far the very best cable I have ever heard. This LA IMO is a major breakthrough in cable design.

I will have the IC/SC up and running next week. Stay tuned.
heh, heh, heh! I thought that you might like it..... looks like you like it a lot. ;-)
Would you say that it's quieter than your JPS Aluminata? After a few days, remove the new Audio Magic power cable & re-insert your JPS Aluminata. let us know what you think of this switch back. Thanks.

My "a respected manufacturer of SET systems (which I have) suggested...." etc. Clarification: I do not own/use said manufacturer's products, tho a similar type system
Glory, I very recently purchased two Clairvoyant PC's and one Clairvoyant IC (goes from my CDP)pair. I dealt directly with Jerry, which I would encourage. The PC's are extremely EASY to work with. With a smaller diameter and construction like a pipe cleaner. They stay however they are put/bent. Excellent! PC's go to Audio Magic Oracle. Sound-wise, .... ? My system was recently assembled from scratch. I had somewhat quickly purchased PC's (brands/models easily re-sold), from here quickly to get up and running. Now I am beginning to work on cabling choices, and AM Clairvoyant seemed very interesting to try. A respected manufacturer of SET systems (which I have) suggested to me OCC/UPOCC cabling (SC also). That will be a second investigation
I have the entry level Interconnect that retails for 400.00. I compared it to Audioquest Columbia, Cardas golden Reference, Audience au-24e. All these cables are double the price of the Liquid Air.
Tried the LL cable. Good at best. Over rated like Synergistic Research Tela stuff.

Tat,

What model LA do you have and what did you have to conpaire to?
I don't have Dominus PC in my system but I am familiar with it. I am not familiar with either Audio Magic or JPS Aluminata. I know better Purist interconnects and speaker cables but not all of them at all. Purist cables with either fluid or Ferox are very very quiet, quieter with Ferox, and have this seductive midrange, more seductive with fluid, and soundstage depth that is hard to resist. So I don't, resist.
I use Custom Power Cord Co. Top Gun power cord with my CEC belt drive player. It is very good too but it is not Dominus.
I have never heard the Clairvoyant but I do have the Audio Magic liquid cables and they are the best cables I have ever had in my system. I have had cables that cost 2 times as much and they can't compete.
Inna,

Why are you biased for PA? What have tried and failed before this wire?
Though you didn't really ask that, but, yes, why not Purist Audio? Used Dominus with Ferox in it is within your reach. Yes, I am biased about Purist, so what?
Glory, I cannot comment on the Audio Magic LA AC cable but I can tell you that the equivalent LA interconnects are fantastic in every respect. They are very quiet indeed & very dynamic & they do not call any attention to themselves. From my experience you would not be disappointed buying into the LA cable series. FWIW.
