Any one here heard the Bmi Oceanic Statement?

I'm a Power Cord FREAK!!! I heard lots of good things about BMI. I'm looking to put it in my CDP. Right now I'm using a AQ power cord the NRG-5 retail some where $600 dollars, I pay about $200 not bad for the money. Any way any experience with the Bmi Oceanic Statement would be appreciated. Thank You.

Hello.Tabu..What is''212 electrial cable''and ''the insulation of the cable was removed''?? I can make one if I understand it..Maybe sell it back to them..........
Tabu, how about some pics since you have gone through the process of dismantling a high end cable. This way nobody could possibly doubt your word.
How long is the break in period for the BMI Piranha cable ?
I own several of the BMI Cables Hammerhead gold mk5's and they took a few weeks to break in but well worth the wait.

I am thinking about getting a pair of BMI Piranhas for my current Wadia digital set up.

Joefama or any other BMI cable owner did you compare the new BMI Piranha to the Hammerhead gold mk5 ?

Thanks for the feedback.
Hey Jazzmeup I can validate your statement about the new Bmi Cables Piranah reference 24k power cable. By owning both a few Ocenanic statements and now the Piranha reference 24k I can a/b comparison.

I am very impressed with the resolution and dynamics presentation of the Piranha. The Oceanic statement is still superior in all facets but, the Piranha delivers a very high worthy little brother tag to the bigger Oceanic statment.

Currently have (4) Oceanic statements and (2) Piranha reference 24k's in my system. My digital setup Esoteric P02 & D02 combo is using the Piranhas. While my MBL reference mono blocks and preamp are using the Oceanics. The additional Oceanic is used on my Goldmund TT.

This setup is the best sounding I've owned and possibly every heard. I am extremely happy with the synergy of the Bmi cables and will not change a thing .
FYI, BMI has just intoduced the brand new Piranha Reference 24K power cord. Very close in performance to the big brother Oceanic. Amazing sounding!!!
Well, full circle we come! Almost a year after my last entry and I am back with a BMI Oceanic! I have been using the Isoclean Supreme Focus as my staple and have had a number of cables through the system to compare with. There is something about the Oceanic I need to shake out a bit more! To be fair I am going to put some serious hours on the cable first. Strangely enough there is something about the Oceanic I trust, so to speak. Give me some time and I will get back with some serious comparisons on a well broken in cable!
Yeah, sorry Jp1208......I don't know who the distributors are! I have many contacts around the world and every now and then one will email me with a deal. I generally don't know if they are distributors, or dealers, or private guys with big collections and need cash for another venture! Many of the "dealers" it seems, move around and change their product. It's the old story, you don't look a gift horse in the mouth! I very much enjoyed my BMI experience, with the Hammerhead Gold Mark IV, and the Oceanic! I would purchase them again......great cable. That said, I have moved on to the Isoclean Supreme Focus, and find it to be simply, my holy grail of power cables!
Bullot, I was just wondering who else was distributing the BMI cables. I am pretty sure the dealer you bought from would still sell to you even if you did not like the cable he sent you.
I'd rather not say where I got it, don't want to burn any bridges, but yes, nobody pays 15K for these. Many items these days can come with serious discounts......Virtual Dynamics was another that had deep discounts.
I am amazed there are so many people out there who have heard a 15k power cable.
Bullot, Which dealer contacted you on the BMI Oceanic and which ends were offered?
Joefama, that's very interesting! I found the exact opposite results! Proof that synergy is VERY important, also break-in!!
I personally have to vouch for the Bmi Oceanic power cord improving my system greatly. Funny thing I had tried the Isoclean Supreme focus power cord and found it to be thinned out and lack luster in natural mids and definition. The Isoclean Supreme power cord was very fatiguing after listening for about an hour. It hac good detail but very thinned and bright sounding.

Once I replaced the Isoclean Supreme power cord with the Bmi Oceanic it brought the smooth full range sound I have been searching for.

Guess it comes down to personal tastes at this level. So I sent back the demo Isoclean supreme focus power cord back to the cable dealer and never looked back.

Incorporating several Bmi Oceanic power cords in my main reference audio system gave me the true live sound with great transparency and superb body and definition. Kudos to the Bmi Oceanic power cable for ending my search in power cords.
I have owned a number of power cords, the BMI Hammerhead Mark IV was my favourite! Then I bought an Isoclean Supreme Focus, and it was not even close.....sold all my BMI cable! About 6 months later I was contacted by a dealer I had done much business with, offering me a great deal on the Oceanic, so I bought it. The Oceanic did not measure up to the Isoclean Supreme Focus, and it also went the way of the dodo bird!!
Totally agree with Quanmer about the BMI cables being very special. The BMI Oceanic Statement takes much longer to break than I ever had, but worth the great sound results when it does. The Oceanic statement really transformed my system to the pinnacle sound I have been waiting to hear. I have to give high praise to the BMI Oceanic Statement power cable.

In addition the other BMI power cable called the Hammerhead Gold Mk.5 is no slouch either. Great resolution and soundstage. The Hammerhead gold mk5 is much easier to break in than the Oceanic statement. I have a few of those cables in my other system with great results.
Mazinga1, I have two Oceanic Statement PC in my system for 3 months, mt rest of PC are Tara Labs The Cobalt. Even Cobalt can't compete with Oceanic Sataement in detail.

And my friends had brought Argento FMR PC to test in my house. The result.......less than one minute, he took his Argento out, and start to ask me where to buy BMI.

Oceanic Statement is indeed very special, but need to burn-in for much longer than other PCs I have ever used. 3 months already, I still think it's not up to its full potential.
I am currently using a pair of BMi Oceanic statement power cables on my vertically biamped Krell power amps. By far the best sounding power cable ever had in my system. I've owned my BMi Oceanics for about 2 months and one of the best upgrades for my reference audio system.

The Oceanic power cable is extremely transparent with superb definition and dynamics. The Oceanic brings resolution and detail to another level while staying accurate and natural sounding. Bass extensions in depth and control were much improved with the Oceanic. Vocals in midrange sounded clearer and mor live sounding. High kudos praise for the Bmi Oceanic power cable. Saving up for another Oceanic to put on my preamp and soon or later on the rest of my equipment once I get more scratch together.

Electraglide Genghis Khan realy good power cord, very hard to find these days a true classic power cord. These were limited edition MSRP $4k .

Hi Bernie,

Sorry, I apologize. I was out for vacation. Any way I'm back. I never heard or seen that model power cord. I heard lots of good things and bad things about Electraglide cables. I guess this one is very rare! very special. I'm curious,

How's the Electra Genghis Khan vs the BMI Oceanic?

By the way you have a Incredible set up, very clean, very unique. I can image how it sounds. Your are one lucky guy. Congratulations!

Mark

Hello David,

Thanks, your comments are highly appreciated by the way those Kronzilla Monoblocks you have are certainly impressive. They really look the biz.

Hello Lordmelton,

Elrod have also just brought out the Diamond Statement at $14,500 I believe. I expect both the BMI and Elrod will give a superb elevated performance but a pair costs about the same as a Wadia 9 Series Decoding Computer (DAC). There is no way a pair of these cables could better the Wadia, but I've been wrong before.

No no no you right, I'm not saying that the BMI Oceanic is better then a Ref CDP or a Preamp etc..... What I'm saying is that the BMI Oceanic is a REALLY! that GOOD!. So far the best power cord that I ever experience!. I see your point $14k is a lot of money for a cable but you got to realize this is not a cheap hobby. The most important thing Lordmelton is as longer you are happy that's what it matter. But any way you have a nice! set up. Enjoy! the music.

Regards.

$14500.00 is pushing the boundarires of price performance. I hope you got a discount. I thought I pushed the boat out with my Tara Labs Cobalts!

You bet nobody in this hobby pay full price, You know that...

Agreed.

There's not a power cord on the planet that justifies a $14.5K price.

Additionally, 99.9% of all systems will benefit more investing that kind of money in a component upgrade.

IMO
YMMV

Hi Bernie,

Nice! Thanks! for the info. By the way Which power cord did you compared the BMI Oceanic?

Thanks!

Hello Mazinga1,

I have the BMI Oceanic Statement for about three weeks now and let me tell you, Very Special! power cord. I own many Ref power cord but the BMI Oceanic is some thing else like I say before Very Special power cord. I tried it on my CJ Act2 MKll preamp with wonderful results, I'm hearing a much wider sound stage, more detail, alot more air and without a doubt more layers. Music is more natural, it just push the CJ to the next level. I'm quite impressed of this, Also I'll tried it on my Harmonix Reimyo CDP again with wonderful results. I'm saving my money to buy another BMI Oceanic... Hope this help Good Luck.

Regards.
Bernie
I have not heard the Bmi oceanic statement yet but do own 4 Bmi Hammerhead gold mk4 power cables and very pleased with the results. Great detail and transparency with ultra wide soundstage improvements throughout the system. One of the biggest upgrades I did with the Bmi cable

Now I read somewhere that Bmi is releasing a Hammerhead gold mk5 which is a step up from the mk4. Also that the hammerhead gold mk5 comes a bit to the overall natural sound of the Oceanic statement. Depending on how much I want to spend my just go to an Oceanic statment or buy the new hammerhead gold mk5.
I tried it on cd player amp and it sounded great on both. Ended up putting it on my ps audio power plant, in my system it does everything right.
I have the bmi hammerhead which is less expensive but on my system it is easily the best power cord I have ever tried.
