Best components to optimize Martin Logan 50XT and Edge in walls
Well said, tls49. I didn't get a subwoofer until I had the right electronics and five NHT speakers in place. Then I went out to get a Velodyne subwoofer.
Ive always wanted one.....but.
I remember the Beogram 4004 and I don't recall it being a particularly good or reliable unit. Last time I was in a B &O store, it was in  a mall in southern California. Totally unimpressed. No offense to anyone, but isn't B & O kind of a...
Test Equipment vs The Ear
I have been in this hobby for 37 years, and I trust my ears over measurements.
Using contact cleaner in tube sockets
When you swapped tubes, did the problem happen in the other channel? If it did, then it must be the tube. If it didn't, then it must be something else. I have an MR-71 tube tuner. I have never used contact cleaner for the sockets. This is a good...
Best components to optimize Martin Logan 50XT and Edge in walls
OK, I understand more now, thank you. For HT, the classic answer is that the speaker drivers should match, at least in the three front speakers. I have five NHT speakers from 2000, with drivers that match in the front three speakers and two in-w...

You have no belittled the site in my opinion. I have read your post three times now, and I am still not sure what you want or are asking. Maybe other members can help.
Underspent on speakers relative to overall system?
Don't overthink it. Life is hard enough as is. If your system sounds good to you, that's all that counts.
Newest Aqusition, McIntosh MA6600 Integrated
Great purchase! My first McIntosh equipment was a MA6200 and an MR74 tuner in 1980. I still have the tuner and about 10 other McIntosh pieces. I have done business with Audio Classics and have always been very pleased.
Vintage Mcintosh tuner
I have bought used McIntosh equipment from both mcintoshaudio and audioclassics. Both are outstanding retailers and offer great repair service on McIntosh equipment.
Vintage Mcintosh tuner
Richard also modifies other McIntosh tuners. He did a mod on my MR74 last year, and it now sounds identical to my MR78.
Two preamps are available....
You guys are right about McIntosh. I have owned McIntosh units for decades and have sent three tuners to the factory. All come back in perfect working condition, and look like they are brand new.
Refurbish vs New Amplifier?
cleeds is right. As a long term McIntosh owner, I have sent three vintage tuners back to the factory for complete overhauls. They were even able to replace front glass on a 40 year old MR77 tuner. If you have a good product and the manufacturer of...
Where were your audio components designed/engineered?
I have owned McIntosh equipment for over 30 years. Also own Apogee Duetta II speakers and Martin Logan Summit X speakers. All designed, built in the U.S., except Martin Logan is now designed in the U.S., and built in Canada.
Programming track playback order on a CD player- anyone use it?
I still do on a McIntosh MCD 7000 CD player that I bought new in 1985.
