Ugrade-itis - is there a cure?
I’ve been an audiophile for over 30 years. And I’ve been on the audio upgrade treadmill for most of those years. But, now I’m retired both as an audiophile and literally. Is there a cure? Maybe, for some of us but surely not for all.You might find...
Has anyone ever heard these speakers by Volti Audio?
Back to Volti speakers.I've owned the Alura for over three years. I consider them my end-game speakers. Why? They are both delicate and forceful. Refined with a touch of overtness. They have a "liveness" that I'm, to this day, surprised and apprec...

Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
What Doug said.... 👍
Which song has fewest words ever?
Best ONE word:"Koyaanisqatsi" - (Life out of balance) Phillip Glass from the movie of the same name.
How did you choose your equipment?
All good recommendations.Surprised no one has mentioned audio shows. I discovered my speakers and amp at AXPONA. Yes, there are significant sonic compromises common in a hotel room. However, after sifting through the dredge, the great setups and e...
Retired audiophile?
Norman,No, your not nuts. Very interesting development. I wonder what life-elements are playing out for you and for those of us who fancy ourselves retired, adjusting/modifying on how we enjoy our music as audiophiles.  czarivey,I'm with you and N...
Do they make a quiet great sounding phono pre amp??
What kind of noise? RF? The quietest phone-pre I've used has been the Sutherland battery powered units.Good luck.

Worst or Best Excuses!
Not to be too morbid...Several years ago I had an illness which could of punched my ticket.A good audiophile friend generously agreed to help my wife liquidate my equipment (which she has some hint of its overall value).More problematic is 3500+ v...
